Mangaluru, June 1: A car driver in the influence of alcohol has crashed into an auto rickshaw near and has also been a reason of injuring two persons near Kankanandy at 2:30 PM in the after noon.
The injured are the rickshaw driver Narendra Kottary(40) a resident of Maryhill who has been seriously injured and the i the female passenger injured is Sujal.
The name of the car driver is said to be Roopesh.
As per the eye witnesses the car was coming from Jeppu and collided with the auto at high speed. The impact of the collision was such the front portion of the rickshaw was damaged overturning the rickshaw. The car driver to control the car pulled the hand brake and escaped uninjured.
After the accident the casualties were taken to the near by private hospital and the driver was beaten by the public
As per the eye witnesses the driver also tried to assault the public in return and later managed to escape from the spot.
It is also alleged that a female traffic police visited the spot and left the place which led to the public’s fury.
Traffic was interrupted for for some time.
