Puttur, October 14: Four ministers of the district failed in stopping the Yettinahole Project, plot is going on to loot the states treasury by implementing the Yettinahole project, alleged MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel addressed a conference organized during the padayatra in protest against Yettinahole project from Mangaluru to Yettinahole. Instead of answering to the queries of the people of the district, their sentiments are neglected and the plans are on to implement the project. There is no answer to the question posed to the state government that from where does it get the 370 mega watt power needed to pump water from Yettinahole? If the four ministers from the district fail to control the state government and discharge their duties well, the people of the district will not tolerate this, he said.
Let the government form an eco-friendly project to address the water problem of the drought ridden areas. To those areas, let they provide water from the already implemented Varahi project. Let they give water from Sharavathi river. If there is scarcity of water, then let they develop a project to best utilize the sea water, he said.
