Mangaluru, October 14: A financial firm reportedly after attracting its customers of providing high interest on their deposits, collected Rs 15 crores from them and has duped the customers. A complaint regarding this has been filed at Mangaluru North police station.

Bunder police station has received a complaint from Juliana Lobo which says that a multi-purpose co-operative society in city has cheated the depositors to the tune of Rs 15 crore with the promise of high interest on their deposits.

The complaint states that, a customer named Juliana Lobo started investing a fixed amount every month after the society promised her that she would get a higher interest. In 5 years, her investment in the form of RD exceeded Rs 18 lakhs. She also said that the management, staff and agents of the bank collected deposits worth Rs 15 crore from other depositors with the promise of providing higher interest rate of 14 %.

Juliana in the complaint says like this the society has collected a total of Rs 15 crores from its depositors and cheated all its customers by neither providing the interest nor the deposit amount.
