Addressing a press meet in the city on Wednesday September 9th, Kateel Dinesh Pai, of VHP said, although information is given to higher police officials, no action is taken on the culprits when cows are taken to slaughterhouses. Hence it is apparent that indirectly the government and the police department are supporting cow slaughter. VHP and Bajarang Dal strongly condemns this.

He said, in Karkala, limbs of five cows were found in a Maruti van. In various places, numerous incidents of similar kind have taken place. Slaughtering of cows hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus. Hence the persons who indulge in such acts should be put behind bars under sec 295A, he said.

VHP district president- Jagadish Shenava, Pradeep Pumpwell, Gopal Kuthar, was present among others.
