Bantwal, January 16: The three-day long celebration at Mudipu Church drew curtains on Friday January 16th.
Dr Bernard Moras Bengaluru archbishop inaugurated the statue of St Joseph Vaz and the free meal programme for devotees by pouring rice into a pot.
Dr Bernard Moras -archbishop addressing the crowd said, giving food to the hungry is a noble work. Jesus also fed the hungry. May St Joseph Vaz intercede for all people who come to this place and pray.
Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza speaking about the life history of St Joseph Vaz said that he served in Udupi, Gangolli, Rosario, Panir and other areas of the coastal region for four years. He wished that the prayers of all devotees who visit this shrine be answered.
