Manipal University Press (MUP) is pleased to announce the book release of its 16th publication A Birder’s Handbook to Manipal authored by Ramit Singal on 19th April 2013. The book will be released by Dr H Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University.
About the Book:
A Birder’s Handbook to Manipal is the comprehensive, up-to-date work covering the 205 species so far known to have been found in Manipal. It is the cumulative result of 3.5 years of regular monitoring of several habitats and species of the region and provides precise data regarding the distribution and status of each of the species as well as fantastic colour photographs of each. It is designed to complement your field guide and enhance your birding experience in Manipal.
This book is packaged along with a CD with 80 calls of 69 different species of birds.
Manipal University Press is pleased as share that around 100 copies of this book were pre-booked but by readers.
About the Author:
Ramit Singal is a 4th year engineering student from Manipal Institute of Technology of Manipal University. He has been taking his birds and birding seriously since 2006. He is an experienced birdwatcher regularly contributing to media articles, online blogs and websites, nationwide monitoring programs, while also conducting regular birdwalks for new as well as old birders in Manipal.
