The 21-year-old accused lured the girl on the pretext of showing her film shoots
A 16-year-old Vasai-based girl had to pay a hefty price for her love of Hindi movies after a unit hand promised her to show her around Film City, but took her to a flat at Oshiwara and then raped her. The Oshiwara police have identified the accused as Sonu Singh, 21.
According to officials from Oshiwara police station, last week, a film shoot was underway at a village in Vasai. The victim visited the sets hoping to catch a glimpse of her favourite actors. There, she met Singh who was working on the set. He assured her that he would take her to Film City and also introduce her to stars.
On May 7, she met Singh and the duo went to Film City at Goregaon. Later, on the pretext of taking her to a film set, Singh took her to a flat at Oshiwara, raped her and then went absconding. Meanwhile, the victim’s parents filed a missing complaint at Valiv police station in Vasai. On Friday, May 9, the girl somehow managed to find her way back home and narrated the whole incident to her parents. They later went to Valiv police station where a case of kidnapping, rape and blackmailing was registered. However, the case was later transferred to Oshiwara as the crime had taken place there. Cops have managed to trace Singh’s location and will arrest him soon.
