Belgaum: The Belgaum police on Sunday arrested a man on the charges of raping his minor daughter in Angol suburb of Belgaum.
The arrested was identified as Appasab Balappa Mali (42). Police said that the mother of the 10-year-old filed a complaint accusing her husband Appasab of raping the minor girl over the past few days.
She also said that her husband had been quarrelling with her over petty issues and they had been living separately for over a month. Taking advantage of her absence, the man sexually abused their daughter, she alleged.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested Appasab who works as a labourer at an industry in Udyambag.
The victim was produced before the Child Welfare Committee on Sunday, and later admitted to the district hospital for medical check-up. The Tilakwadi police have registered a case.
