As many as 65 washing machines, 60 television sets and 60 mixer grinders that were illegally stored at a godown near Indiranagar in the city have been seized by Tahsildar D B Natesh.

“Following a tip-off, we raided the godown, where these goods were stored. Prima facie investigation has revealed that these goods belonged to Congress candidate Dr K Sudhakar’s Saikrishna Charitable Trust,” Natesh told Deccan Herald.

The trust had organised rangoli competitions recently and these goods were meant to be distributed among the winners. However, due to various reasons these could not be distributed, according to the trust officials.

‘Investigation on’

But this will be investigated thoroughly, Natesh added.

“We have not found the original documents of these goods with the Trust and we are being interrogating trust members and also the godown owner. Trust members have been directed to produce the documents pertaining to these goods. They have been given time till Monday. Stern action will be taken against if it is found a poll code violation, he added.
