Ramakka, mother of sitting BJP MLA Y Sampangi, is contesting from the Kolar Gold Fields on a BJP ticket.
His mother has been lucky, as Sampangi was denied the ticket from the party. But interestingly, Ramakka’s another son Y Ravi had also filed nomination papers as independent candidate.
It is being said that Ravi’s nomination was to ensure that somebody from the family is in the fray, if at all Ramakka’s nomination was rejected. But even on the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers, Ravi did not withdraw the paper.
Legislator Sampangi has already begun campaigning for his mother in the constituency. But people are curious to know how the family members fare against each other.
