STARGAZERS LINESumalatha, the wife of Housing minister and actor M H Ambarish on Sunday appealed to the public not to spread rumours about his health.

“Ambarish is improving and getting treatment from the best team of doctors. I thank fans for their support and request them not to spread rumours,” Sumalatha told reporters.“There are friends, relatives and fans in far-off places. They don’t know what is happening here. Such rumours will create trouble,” she said.

She pleaded with the public and media to understand the difficulties of the actor’s family. A large number of Ambarish’s fans camped in front of the hospital and offered mass prayers for his speedy recovery.

Those who visited the hospital included former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, former chief ministers Jagadish Shettar, H D Kumaraswamy, former ministers B Sriramulu, V Somanna, Andhra Pradesh minister Krishna Reddy, actors Upendra, Priyanka, Doddanna, Mohan Babu, Vishnu and others.

Condition stable

Ambarish’s  condition remained stable, even though there is no significant improvement in his health.

Doctors are constantly monitoring him in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he continues to be on ventilator at Vikram Hospital.

“All his medical parameters including heart rate and haemoglobin are good. His vital organs like heart, brain, lungs and kidneys are functioning properly.

“The blood pressure is normal, blood count is good and diabetes is well under control. There is no fever. Overall his condition is stable,” Dr K S Satish (chief pulmonologist) told reporters.“We will take stock of the situation on Monday morning and take a suitable decision on removing the ventilator,” the doctor said.

A seven-member medical team is providing treatment to Ambarish round-the-clock. He is being given liquid diet, Satish said. Ambarish is getting the best possible medicines, care and nursing. There is continuous supply of antibiotics. He is conscious, but cannot speak as sedatives have been given, he said.

“The reports that the actor would be shifted to Singapore for further treatment are false. We have not taken any decision in this regard, but are open to the idea if the family members suggest so,” said Satish.

Ambarish has been facing a small viral and lung infection over the last 10 years. His condition suddenly deteriorated due to a high level of infection.

Doctors said that they could not say anything at this stage about his discharge as he was on ventilator.

“It might take a couple of days for the discharge if the ventilator is removed. We will gradually remove the ventilator,” Satish said.
