The Janata Dal (Secular) has decided to field Geetha Shivarajkumar, wife of actor Shivarajkumar and daughter of late S. Bangarappa, from the Shimoga parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to The Hindu, Janata Dal(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy said that the party’s youth wing president Madhu Bangarappa had offered to request one of his family members to contest from Shimoga represented by his father four times. “The Janata Dal(S) has decided to field Ms. Geetha Shivarajkumar, if her family agrees to the proposal,” he said.
Considering the response it received in the Assembly elections, the party has great chances of winning the seat. The Janata Dal(S) won Shimoga Rural, Bhadravati and Sorab Assembly constituencies.
