BANGALORE, November 18:  On Sunday morning when thousands congregated on the Palace Grounds to hear BJP leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, traffic in the thoroughfares around the venue moved with ease.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police B. Dayanand, the rally passed off without giving much traffic hitch to the city residents and motorists since it was a Sunday and also adequate publicity had been given to motorists to avoid the roads around the venue.

“Unlike on previous occasions, there were no problems with traffic movement anywhere in the city, including areas around Palace Grounds,” he said, adding that the adequate planning had been done taking a cue from previous experiences. “While motorists had been advised to keep off the roads around the venue, airport commuters and taxis had been informed before (on the alternative routes to be taken). We had prepared well,” he added.
