BANGALORE: The Disaster Management Division of Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka is organising a Workshop on International Best Practices in Building Resilient Cities from 5th to 7th August 2013 at Bangalore. The Department of Home, Government of Karnataka and Synergia Foundation of Bangalore are assisting the Disaster Management
Division of the Revenue Department in organising this workshop.
This three-day workshop assumes significance in the backdrop of the recent Natural Calamity in Uttarakhand as well as the increased incidences of terrorist. The first day of the workshop will focus on ‘Terror Attack’. There is a special session on Role of Media in National Security. The second day of workshop will focus on Emergency response to Natural as well as Manmade disasters. The third day is devoted to future threats including non-conventional threats to healthcare responders etc.
The participants in this workshop include the Chief Minister, Ministers, Senior Bureaucrats from the State as well as Union Government, Media and Subject experts.
