BANGALORE: For an education system that is always known for its delayed announcements of results, this came as a surprise. The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUSH) declared the results on the same day of completion of exams.
The B Pharm final year exam, that had started on July 10, 2013 ended at 5.30 pm on Tuesday. The results were out at 7.30 pm on the same day. The results were announced for around 1500 students from 56 colleges.
This is how the varsity worked. The theory exams had kicked off on July 10 and the valuation started the very next day. The marks were uploaded then and there from the exam centres for the varsity to access. Simultaneously, internal assessment marks were also sent from colleges online. By July 22, all the theory papers were completed. The marks of the practical exams were also uploaded on the same day. The last set of practicals was conducted at 5.30 on July 30. The marks were uploaded by 5.45 and the compiled results were announced in the next two hours. Around 35-45 teachers were engaged in the valuation per day.
“This was because of the online system that was adopted. It just proves that if you put the mind together and take advantage of technology, such achievements are possible,” said N S Ashok Kumar, registrar evaluation, RGUHS.
