Roshan Baig slams BJP’s disruption threat

Roshan_BaigBengaluru: A veteran of many a political battle, information and publicity minister Roshan Baig brushes aside the threat from the opposition BJP of disrupting the winter session at Belagavi saying the saffron party had nothing to flaunt about its stint in power.

Citing the case of a former chief minister going to jail and several ministers getting embroiled in scams, Mr Baig told media that this did far greater damage to the image of Karnataka than the charges the BJP is now brandishing against four of his ministerial colleagues.

He feels there is a subtle reason for the BJP upping the ante against the Siddaramaiah govt—the party knows it won’t win as many seats it did now, in the next parliament elections in strongholds like Gujarat and would like to make up for the loss in Karnataka.

The minister is intent on giving a makeover to the information and publicity department and says it could play a role in bringing issues like leakages from the Anna Bhagya rice scheme and the high handedness of the police to the government’s notice.
