Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah had come to cast his vote without any identity proof to the polling booth at the government school at Siddaramanahundi in Varuna constituency of Mysore district.
When he came to exercise his franchise at 9 am, the polling officials asked him to produce any of the permissible documents. Siddaramaiah then asked one of his associates to go to his house and fetch his legislator’s ID card. He waited at the booth till the card was brought. He was allowed to cast his vote, after the officials verified the document.
