Mangalore, September 10: Under the aid of the United Christian Association and Infant Jesus Shrine Bikarnakatte, approximately 600 Catholics responded to the pope’s appeal and marched silently with lit candles from the Infant Jesus Shrine to the St. Brigit Convent in Bikarnakatte, here on September 9th at 6.30 PM.

A prayer session was held before starting the march, at the Infant Jesus shrine and also at the convent at the end of the march.

Fr Alias D’Souza, the superior of the Infant Jesus shrine called the gathered to pray for the Christians in Iraq. He further said, “We have come here to pray. Let God turn the hearts of terrorists and let the Christians in Iraq be shown mercy”.
