Mangalore, September 10: A murder case is imposed and registered in Mulky police station against a lady who had jumped into River Nandini from Pavanje Bridge along with her kid and had been rescued by the locals at the venue. She is also facing a case relating to her suicide attempt, as she had dived into the river along with her innocent child, which has lost its life.
It is gathered that, Divya Jois alias Geetha(45), in her statement has revealed to the Cops that, she had opted this extreme step due to the harassment from Ramanath Jois, brother of her husband and also his wife, Malathi. ‘As I could not take the insult and harassment, I decided to end my life along with those of my children,’ she said.
Sources said that, Ramanath and his wife Malathi also face a case of abetting her suicide and causing the death of the child. This case, which is now registered in Mulky station, will be transferred to Shirva as the family lives there.
Mrs Divya Jois, continues to be treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Mukka. Doctors have revealed that following this incident, she is in a state of shock. Assistant commissioner of police, Ravikumar, said after her health condition improves; she will be probed further. After investigation, the mortal remains of the child were handed over to the family.
