RSS Calls on Kerala State Bundh.

Kannur, September 1: Mr Manoj (38) an RSS worker was hacked to death at Diamond junction near Kathiroor in Kannur district here on Monday September 1st. Another person Pramod (35) who was accompanied by him was severely injured.

It is gathered that a group of miscreants followed Manoj’s car, hurled a crude bomb to create panic in the area and later attacked Manoj (38) and his friend with sickles. Both were rushed to hospital, where Manoj was proclaimed dead.

A state-wide bundh has been called by the RSS from 6 am to 6 pm on Tuesday September 2nd to protest against the murder. Due to Ganeshotsava celebrations in Kasargod and Manjeshwar, bundh will not be observed in these two places. Schools and colleges will remain closed and exams will be postponed.

Incidentally, the attack took place on a day when BJP’s national president Amit Shah is on a visit to the state.

It is alleged by the RSS and BJP leaders that the CPI (M) was behind the killing.

Sources revealed that the Cops have already taken six persons for questioning.

According to the Cops, one of the accused in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case, T K Rajeesh and his companions had attempted to murder Manoj a few years ago. Mr T P Chandrasekharan, a Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader was murdered in Onchiyam at Kozhikode in the year 2012.

Manoj succumbed to his injuries on the spot. A case has been registered at the Tellicherry Police Station.
