Suratkal, August 24: In India, each and every culture and practices are observed by all clans. Each individual observes the fest of each religion indirectly and thereby is a true Indian. “ONAM is a fest which conveys a message of equality of all religions”, stated the minister B.A.Moideen Bava.
He spoke on inaugurating the Onam celebration ceremony which was organised by Kairali Kala Vedi Association, Suratkal; at Vidyayini Diamond Jubilee Hall in Suratkal.
The occasion was presided over by M R Anil Kumar Damodaran,the president of the Kairali Kala Vedi. Prathibha Kulai, member of the Mangalore City Corporation gave some important information related to the celebration of the festivals.
As guests, writer Kalpata Narayan, president of the Kerala Folklore Academy B.Muhammad Ahmed, Sheril Rani Professor at Besant Women’s College, Kumar Pillai, president of Kerala Samajam T.K Rajan, journalist Rajesh Kumar Kankol , Abraham Mathew, E.J.John, N.S.Pillai, T.K.Muralidharan, CP Nicholo Bose, Tailin Joseph, R.L.Satish Kumar, Vinodraj Panambur, J.J.Pillai and others were present.
