Mangalore,August 22 : On Thursday, August 21st, the Urwa cops have arrested Uday (29) for abetment of suicide of a financier Shailesh at his residence in Hoigebail. The accused was produced in the court and alter has been remanded to judicial custody.
Details of incident:
On Thursday, August 14th; Shailesh (38) his wife Savitha (32) and their ten-year-old daughter Vidyalakshmi were found dead in their residence. Shailesh was found hanging where as the bodies of his wife and daughter was recovered from their bedroom.
Shailesh, an owner of Akshaya finance firm located at Chilmbi is said to have taken this extreme step due to the financial problems.As the bodies were found in partially decomposed state, the Police suspected that they might have died on Tuesday, August 12th.
A death note naming several persons was recovered in the house.
The Police then registered a case against three persons for abetment to suicide. The case against Uday, Rajesh Shetty and Anil was registered under Section 306 of IPC on the basis of a suicide note left by the deceased.The Police had also registered a murder case under Section 306 of IPC against Shailesh for killing his wife and child by feeding them with poison laced ice cream.
The Police said that a four paged suicide note including several names was left behind by Shailesh, which read that he took the extreme step as Uday was tormenting him with demand of money even though he had not owed him anything. Uday had even filed a police complaint with a intent of maligning my reputation. He projected that I owed Rs 2 crore which was untrue. When my wife came to know this they were horrified and didn’t want to live anymore.
One of the accused named Sunil had surrendered before the court after the case was registered.
