Dr D Veerendra Heggade Felicitates Environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka

Dharmasthala, August 19: Salumarada Thimmakka who is an Environmentalist had paid a visit to Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Temple, was honoured by Dr D Veerendra Heggade the Dharmadhikari of shri Kshethra Dharmasthala. On this occasion, the spouse of Dr Heggade Mrs Hemavathi Heggade was also present.

Salumarada Thimmakka:

Thimmakka is a resident of Hulikal in Magadi taluk, Ramanagar District of Karnataka. Thimmakka is well known for planting 284 banyan trees along the highway about a distance of four kilometers.

Thimmakka is honoured with the National Citizen’s Award of India. In addition to this an US environmental organization called Thimmakka’s Resources for Environmental Education is named after her along with other awards and recognitions.
