False complainant will be severely punished: SP

Mangalore, Aug 4: superintendent of police Dr Sharanappa S D said that the law violators will be severely punished.

Speaking at the SC/ST review meeting held at SP’s office on August 3, Sunday, he said that in most of the cases, innocent people are being punished. Further if the instance of false complaint is filed against any innocent, then they must inform the officials in advance.

He also said that further people who file complaint must provide clear proof so that it will be investigated scientifically and the truth is revealed. The department will take stringent action against the person who files false complaint.

He also said that, the department will conduct seminar for police officers to brief about the newly-implemented rules and regulations. The seminar will brief on information regarding various other departments and Awareness and guidance on recently implemented rules and regulations.

SP said that the zonal level seminar and district level seminar will also be conducted on August 6 and August 15 respectively.

Listening to the complaints, Dr Sharanappa said that in the coming days he will receive the Zonal and taluk level complaints at a particular assigned place. The people from village who will find difficult to reach me, can register their complaint to the nearest police station or to the taluk headquarter.

Dalit leader S P Anand, said that land owners Sanath Kumar Rai and Jayakara had abused Dalit colony residents of Jatipalla, Sulya, Lalita, and Gauri after entering their home. Despite of filing complaint against this, head constable Chandappa called both the parties after a week and declared that the case was closed. The constable has taken bribes many times to close the complaint and this must be investigated, he added.

Responding to the complaint SP Dr Sharanappa assured to investigate the matter and take legal action against him.

District additional SP T P Shivakumar, police officers and Dalit members were also present.
