Bantwal, July 28: A man from Punacha has been accused of raping a teenage girl in moving bus to Bangalore after kidnapping her while she was on her way to the college.
The accused has been identified as Nithin, a local resident of Punacha. The victim is a 17 year old first PUC student of Bulerikate College and a resident of Pavalumoole.
The girl who had left for college as usual on July 24 was reported missing as she had not attended the college nor returned home. Her father had then lodged a complaint of missing in Vittal Police Station. The police, who took up the investigation, traced the girl at the Bangalore bus stand on July 25 and have brought her back to Vittal on Saturday July 26.
Nithin, who kidnapped the girl, forced her to come with him in the KSRTC sleeper coach bus. It is being alleged that the he raped her in the bus while it was on move.
Police sources said that a case of kidnap, rape and caste abuse has been registered against the accused. The police are searching for the accused.
