DK Working Journalists’ Union celebrates Vanamahotsava, Green Mangalore project launched

Mangalore, July 25: Vanamahotsava programme was organised under the aegis of the DK Working Journalists’ Union, Mangalore Press Club and Forest Department at Ladyhill here on July 25, Friday.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Mangalore Mayor Mahabala Maarla has said that the Green Mangalore initiative has been launched by the City Corporation with the co-operation of the Departments of Horticulture and Forest and like-minded organisations. Funds have also been earmarked to develop parks and playgrounds, he informed.

The chief guests present on the dais were, Dr. Sanjay Bijoor, Chief Conservator of Forests; Palaiah, Deputy Conservator of Forests;  Abbas, ACF; Clifford Lobo, Mangalore Zonal Forest Officer; V Madhu, Environmental Engineer of MCC.
