Bantwala: Heavy rainfall on Saturday night has caused a severe trouble in the area here. Compound wall of SVS Vidyagiri English Medium School has collapsed and fallen into the 60-70 feet water stream below, this has caused block in the flow and water has flooded into a nearby field.
The collapsing of compound has resulted in the cracks on the school wall and the loss has been estimated upto Rs. 10 lakh. The management has announced holiday to the students and the repair works are on track.
Tahashildar of Bantwala, Mr. Melswami and Revenue officer Saadu have visited the spot and investigated. Tahashildar has promised the school of providing a new compound and has directed the management to ensure students’safety.
Flooded river:
The heavy rainfall in the area has resulted in water flow at danger level in the Netravathi River. it was also reported that water has flooded into some houses located nearby.
