Mangalore: “Mangalore Coastal Round Table 190, a unit of Round Table India will inaugurate an innovative project at the Mannagudda Higher Primary Government School, Mangalore on Sunday, June 22 at 10 am,” said Neil Rodrigues, Chairman, Mangalore Coastal Round Table 190.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club in Mangalore on Saturday, June 21, Neil Rodrigues said that U.T. Khader, Minister for health and family welfare, will inaugurate this unique and innovative Audio-Visual Room at Government Higher Primary School Mannagudda.
“Round Table Mangalore has brought the learning experience with state-of-the-art facilities to a government school in Mangalore,” he added.
The fully air-conditioned AV room with projector, screen, in-built audio, computer, and cordless microphone provides the concept of experience education to the students.
The Corporate-Style Interiors were designed by Namrata Kamath as a voluntary project.
The vision of Round Table Mangalore is to make the experience of learning appealing to all children. The challenges that government schools face in making this possible today are:
* Lack of global exposure and content * Shortage of teaching staff * Comprehensive English education
The audio visual room aims to address all these issues satisfactorily in a way that it can be made sustainable as well as replicated in other public schools. The content for this has been carefully procured and organized from classes 1 to 8 with many topics like environment, science and mathematics being explained in interesting and animated forms.
“The room will also be used for community service activities and training to public communities-Police force, government school faculty etc,” said the chairman.
Sunil Talithaya, vice chairman, Ajith Pai, secretary, and others were present during the press conference.
