Mangalore, May 24: More than 50 complaints have been received by Barke police from nursing professionals against DHRC Tours & Travels. The company, said to be a self appointed ’Recruiting Agent’ is located at Inland Avenue Building at Ballalbagh, MG Road, Mangalore.

Nurses have registered complainants against DHRC Manager, Pradeep Kumar and his recruitment executives, Mohamad Ali and Praveen stating that, DHRC collected more than a crore of cash from them with promises of nursing jobs in Singapore and has closed its doors with no sign of those responsible nor the money paid.

The victims are currently working as BSc/ GNM nurses in Kerala, Karnataka and other states. All the complainants say they paid one lakh rupees each to register. A couple of weeks ago, job Visa was e-mailed to them and they again had to visit the firm with certificates and other documents, when a second payment was made the agency. The candidates were told that they were to attend a test on May 28 in Singapore before taking up the job. When  the candidates visited  the office on May 21 and after, Pradeep, Praveen and Muhammadali were not there and the office staff  said that dint have any instructions and their mobile phones were switched.

DHRC’s illegal nursing recruitment activities for Singapore and West Asian countries without any authority  from the Protector of Emigrants (POE) which comes under Union Ministry of External Affairs that grants license was exposed by a local media in October  2013. DHRC has been in to such recruitment posing as being authorized by others names and license called Waves India, located at Thiruvalla in Kerala.
