Mangalore, May 20: Ajith Kumar Hegde S, returning officer and commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation informed that, “Candidates have been selected unanimously for all 14 posts of South Canara District Central Co-operative (SCDCC) Bank Limited for the term 2014- 19, in the election conducted by the Co-operative Election Commission.”
Speaking to the persons gathered at SCDCC Bank head office in Mangalore on Monday, May 19, Ajith Kumar Hegde said that there were 11 posts from the constituencies of the representatives of all primary agricultural credit co-operative societies, one post from taluk agricultural product sale co-operative society, one from town co-operative bank, credit co-operative society and one from the representative’s constituency which won’t come under any of these.
He also informed that the election procedure had started on May 8 and May 17 was the last date to submit nomination. Nominations were scrutinized on May 18. Candidates could have withdrawn their nominations within May 19, 3 pm. “We had received 24 nominations and 10 were rejected and 14 candidates were on the fray for 14 posts. We have unanimously elected all of them,“ he said.
Honnaiah, Election Officer informed that the elections for the posts of president and vice president will be held on May 29. Till date, the Election Commission has received 22 nominations and May 25 will be the last date to withdraw nominations.
The list of unanimously elected representatives is as follows: B Raghuram Shetty (Kundapur taluk), S Raju Poojary ( Kundapur taluk), Kishan Hegde Kolkebail (Udupi taluk), Rajesh Rao (Udupi taluk), M N Rajendra Kumar (Mangalore taluk), Vinay Kumar Soorinje (Mangalore taluk), K S Devraj (Sullia taluk), Shashikumar Rai B (Puttur taluk), M Vadiraj Shetty (Karkala taluk), B Niranjan (Belthangady taluk), T G Rajarama Bhat (Bantwal taluk), Bhaskar S Kotyan (taluk agricultural product sale co-operative society), Sadashiva Ullal (town co-operative bank, credit co-operative society) and S B Jayarama Rai (all other co-operative societies’ division).
