Mangalore May 19: A common scenario in a cricket match, where a batsman hit the ball towards the boundary, caused the two groups of youth to clash with each other. The conflict occurred today in Kulai Premanagara ground, when two groups of youth were playing cricket.
During the match there was a difference of opinion when a batsman hit the ball to the boundary, as whether the ball touched the boundary or not, there were arguments which soon developed into clashes and fight.
Sources said that standers too joined the clash and the scene turned into an effusive communal clash. Few people were injured and two of them named as Prajwal and Somu were admitted to a nearby hospital.
The youth damaged two motor bikes, an auto rickshaw and a Maruti Omni. The situation was tense and Police Commissioner visited the spot and instituted investigations.
A case has been booked by Suratkal and Panambur Police.
