Mangalore, May 09: Due to depression in Arabian sea, meteorological department has issued a warning of very heavy rainfall in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikamagalur and Hassan districts during the next 48 hrs. Fishermen are advised not to enter the sea. Thunder squalls with wind speed reaching to 50-60 kmph is likely to hit the coast during the next 24 hrs.
DEPCOMS have been ordered o remain on alert., take precautionary measures, keep a close watch on all vulnerable areas, control rooms to be fully operational and report all incidents, rescue and relief teams to be on standby for emergency duties.
