Two people from Dakshina Kannada knocked down by moving train

Mangalore, April 25: It has been reported in the city on April 24, Wednesday that in a separate two incidents two people from Dakshina Kannada lost their lives after being knocked down by moving train.

Jayarama Gowda, aged 55, a native of Navoor, Kaniyoor in Puttur taluk was knocked down by the train when he was trying to cross the railway tracks, at Eladka between Kaniyoor and Yedamangala at around 8.00am in the morning.

In an  another incident P Sesappa Poojary,resident of Bondel lost his life after being crushed by a moving train between Ullal and Kolya near the city at around 11.oo am in the morning.

Sources said poojary left his home and informed the family members that he would return after reading the news paper. But to the utter surprise nobody in the family could figure out why he had been to Ullal, which is 15 kms away from his home.

His body was identified with the help of the cell phone found in his pocket.

The railway police have registered both the cases.
