Mangalore, May 03: The protestors of Congress unit of D.K. District burnt effigy of Baba Ramdev and staged a demonstration in front of the DC office in the city on May 3, Saturday demanding stringent action against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for his insulting remarks against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
Ivan D’Souza addressed the protestors saying, Ramdev was not a Yoga Guru but a BJP man. He also charged the BJP of failing to respect Dalits and women. He said the country will be divided if at all the BJP came to power.
The Konaje police, acting upon a complaint by social activist Lolaksha, have registered an FIR against Baba Ramdev under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and other sections of the IPC.
