Mangalore, May 2: A body of 20-year-old who was missing since Tuesday April 29 was found lifeless at Uliya here on Thursday May 1.
The Panambur police were searching for Junaid Sheik’s (20) when his dead body was found floating in Netravati river. The body was partly decomposed.
Junaid was employed at Lifestyle store in City Centre Mall. He was a resident of Jeppu who had gone out with his friends on April 29, but did not return home. His family filed a missing complaint in the police station the same day.
It is said that he made his last call to Suhail, his cousin, on Tuesday at 7 am, asking him to collect his ATM card from a shop located at Morgan’s Gate and draw his monthly salary. He then instructed Suhail to hand over the money to his mother.
It is suspected that he might have committed suicide, Junaid’s family is unsure about the cause of his sudden death. Though currently they have no doubt on anyone, they pointed out that Junaid was accompanied by his friends on the day he went missing.
As the body was found at Uliya, a case has been registered in Ullal police station and further investigations are under progress.
