Udupi BJP protests demanding withdrawal of murder case against ANF police

Udupi, April 29: Udupi district BJP staged a protest demanding to withdraw the murder case filed against ANF cop Naveen Naik, who gunned down a cattle trader Kabeer at Tanikodu check post near Shringeri recently.

Addressing the protestors, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said that in order to appease the minorities, the congress government has imposed murder case on the cop and have compensated the amount of Rs 10 lakh to victim’s family.

He also said that the BJP wants the government to withdraw the compensation announced to Kabeer’s family of Kabeer and take stringent action against cattle traffickers.

He also accused MLA Moidin Bava and Health Minister UT Khader of protecting  the cattle traffickers and book the duo in this case.

District BJP President Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, former MLA Lalaji Mendon Ratnaker Hegde, Gopal Suvarna and others were present.

Prior to the protest, BJP workers took out a protest rally from BJP office to Chittaranjan Circle.
