Uppinangady, April 23: Police finds a new twist in the murder case of Annaiah Gowda, a farmer, who was murder by the three masked men at his house near Kokkada in Kalanja village on April 19, Saturday, with the arrest of the Gowda’s wife Amitha and her paramour Rudresh, a forest officer in Kalanja.

According to police, Gowda’s wife during the interrogation revealed that she who runs the tailoring shop at Kokkada was having an affair with the forest officer, who used to visit her house at night, when her husband was away. Amitha had also revealed that her illicit relationship with officer had led to the murder of her husband.

Police also said that the locals who had always seen the two in the house when Gowda was away had also burnt the two-wheeler of the officer parked outside the house

On the night of murder, it is alleged that Rudresh had called Amitha and expressed his wish to visit her, but when Amitha opposed him since Gowda was at home, drunken officer persisted, she asked him to enter house by dislodging the roof tiles.

As per the direction, Rudresh tried to enter home, but as Gowda heard the sound, he opened the back door and saw Rudresh, who in anger hit him with iron rod.

Investigations are on.
