Mangalore, April 24: Addressing the media reporters in the press meet held at city’s BJP head office, Kodialbail on April 23, Tuesday, Abu backer N B, President, KMDC said in his speech that BJP was the only government, which had been trying for the overall welfare of the people of Karnataka in general and minority community in particular.
He further said that BJP in its last five years of rule had granted Rs 1313.96 crores towards the welfare of minority community as compared to Rs.3.5 crore as that of earlier governments and this has benefitted 14 lacs minority community people, he added.
For the welfare of minority communities like Muslim, Christian, Jain, Budh, Parsees in the field of social justice and improvement in their economical field, BJP government in its five years of rule had granted Rs.327.94 crores financial aid besides being constructed 43 Shaadi Mahals (Marriage halls).
Out of 43 halls, 3 shaadi mahals were granted Rupees of 50 lacs each and remaining halls were granted Rs.20 lacs each, he added.
Replying to the question posed by media reporters to Monappa Bhandary about Dhananjay’s statement about the money was being paid to LK Advani by B S Yeddyurappa for remain in power,Bhandary said that if it is proved with documentary proofs, he will quit politics, he said.
Thereafter Bhandary welcomed the new leaders from minority communities by offering them party’s shawls.
Rahim uchil, Anwar reeko, Rajgopal Rai among others were present in the meet.
