Mangalore, April 14: Fire damages the first floor of a residential building at Arya Samaj Road on April 13, Sunday. Gold and silver ornaments, cash of Rs 12,000, property records etc have been destroyed in the fire.
It is suspected that a short circuit might have caused the fire. There is also a notion that rats which are abundantly running in the house might have cut off some wire leading to short circuit. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
It is learnt that the house belongs to Venkatraj who stayed in the ground floor. A brother of Venkatraj who was staying in the first floor had shifted a few days ago. The fire has broken out half an hour after Venkatraj’s brother visited the house on Sunday.
