Udupi, Apr 10: ‘Modi is not just a name, it is a mantra that represents self-respect of crores of Indians,’ said Tejaswini Ramesh addressing the participants of the coastal BJP convention organized near Malpe bus stand on Wednesday April 9. She noted that just like the saying that goats never leave any greens untouched, Modi has never left any heart untouched. The convention was held under the aegis of the district BJP Yuva Morcha and fishermen’s wing.

She campaigned for Shobha saying that, ‘For us, our country stands above even religion and party. The public will contribute to a resounding victory for BJP candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, Shobha Karandlaje, who will rise to be the voice of women from Karnataka.’

Before the convention, hundreds of women rode through the streets of the town to the venue of the meeting. The rally was flagged off at Jodukatte to K.M Road, Bus stop, Bannanje, Karavali bypass and culminated at Malpe Beach.

‘The Congress government at the centre did not even have the guts to bring back the severed heads of our soldiers, after they were slain by Pakistani soldiers when protecting our borders. How can we accept this as our government? Congress has borrowed the divide and rule policy of the British, which had succeeded in splitting India into several countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Burma, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka,’ she said. There is no leadership or patriotism in Congress she added.
