Mangalore, Apr 9: Former union minister CM Ibrahim said, “Narendra Modi will not become the Prime Minister, and once again UPA will come to power. My prediction never goes wrong. This time Congress will secure 20 seats in Karnataka. If there is 90 percent voter turnout, Janardhana Poojary will win the elections by a margin of one lac votes.” He was speaking while campaigning for B Janardhana Poojary, Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency at a public meet at Kasba Bengre here on Wednesday April 9.

Smashing out at BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Ibrahim said, “There is no ideology left in BJP. L K Advani, Muruli Manohar Joshi, Jaswant Singh and Sushma Swaraj are sidelined. Today, Karnataka enjoys the second place in industrial development. What is Gujarat Model? About 55 percent of girls are suffering from malnutrition in Gujarat and being chief minister Modi gives reckless answer that it is because they are ‘beauty conscious’. Gujarat is at the 11th place in income index. About 45 percent of children are suffering from malnutrition.”

“BJP is following a one-man army theory. Earlier there were good leaders in BJP, they had love towards the nation, but presently the party speaks of only one man and corporates. They have been talking of Ram Mandir since the time of Vajpayee, but I guarantee that they will not build Ram Mandir,” he said.

On the issue of Uniform Civil Code, he said law is same for all in India, but marriage rituals of Muslims and Christians are different. “Why should Modi worry about marriage rituals of others? It is left to them,” he said.

K P Nanjundi also spoke on the occasion. Deputy mayor Kavita, Shashidhar Hegde, Meryll Rego, M Farook, Saritha Bengre and others were present.
