Mangalore, April 6: Congress star campaigner and sandalwood actress Bhavya visited the city to campaign for Congress candidate Janardhan Poojary on April 5, Saturday.
Bhavya began her campaign in city by offering pooja at Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Pandeshwar.
Later, she was accompanied by Mahila Congress volunteers and former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde to choose for door to door campaign in the locality.
The residents of the locality were surprised to see their onscreen idol draped in attractive pink and blue saree, standing front of their house and making an vote appeal for the congress candidate.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhavya said that she had joined the party a week before, since she was attracted to its pro-women policies and concern for the welfare of the poor.
She was said that he hails from the family of congress supporters and always admired late Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi who sacrificed their lives for the country. The congress candidate and senior politician with 50 years of political experience will surely gain victory in the upcoming election, she added.
