Hundreds of customers accuses Euro Gold of duping under gold scheme

Mangalore, April 6: As Euro Gold, a jewellery store at Kankanady closed down few months ago, hundreds of customers gathered front of store on April 5,Saturday and complained about the management for duping their deposited advance payments made for gold scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, one of the customers Mohammed Zainuddhin, a resident of Bajal said that the management closed down the store in the month of December, when asked about it with the employees in the office which is located above the store, they replied that the store was closed down for renovation. Now it is almost five months and there is no respond from the management.

He also said that board of directors Mohammed Shafeeq and Sajad are not reachable, while some have made a deposit of Rs 34,000 too.

The store also issued cheques to some of the customers, who demanded deposited advance payments, but the cheques bounced when they tried to encash.

All the customers had the receipts of payment and cheques issued by the store.

The customers who gathered at the store said that they would take legal action against the store management. The police case will also be lodged by next week if the store fails to respond, they informed.
