Election observers inspects expenditures of poll candidates in DK

Mangalore, April 3: Krishna Prasad, Assistant Expenditure Observer of Lok Sabha elections said that inspection of expenditure and accounts of candidates contesting for the upcoming elections from Dakshina Kannada Parliamentary constituency was done on April 2, Wednesday.

Speaking at the press meet held at DC Office, Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer AB Ibrahim said that the administration has dispatched as many as 1105 postal ballot papers for service voters including armed forces. The scrutiny of Electronic Voting Machine has been done in the presence of candidates, election observers and political party representatives.

Around 4000 polling personnel and presiding officers participated in the Training programmes conducted in eight centers, he said.

Speaking on the complaints regarding violation of election code of conduct, DC said that during Ugadi Festival, the president of SCDCC Bank had assured to provide loans through mobile banking units.

The DK Working Journalists’ Union submitted a memorandum to DC urging to provide postal ballots or Election Duty Certificate to working journalists during elections.
