Mangalore /Moodbidri , Mar 31: As per the complaint filed by a young housewife, the Moodbidri police have registered cases against a total of nine persons including her husband and in-laws for harassing her for dowry.
The police have registered complaint against woman’s husband Nazeer Hussain, his parents HA Khader and Bipathima, sisters Sauda Banu, Khateeja and Zubaida, brothers-in-law Sulaiman, Basheer and Ibrahim, hailing from Handelu near Moodbidri. Victims husband Nazeer Hussan is been absconding.
It is learnt that the young woman, daughter of Abdul Khader of Kinnikambla was married to Nazeer eight months back. The family of woman had given s much as 65 sovereigns of gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash during the marriage. After the marriage, Nazeer who was employed overseas did not rejoin his work and always pester his wife to demand more dowries from her family. But when her family members did not heed to their dowry demand, they driven out of the house on February 28, she filed complaint against them.
Investigation is on.
