Kasargod, Mar 30: Kumble police on March 29, Saturday, have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of BM Shafique, who was later found buried under sand near a construction site at Kumble.
The arrested are identified as Abdul Salam (22) of Kumble Peral and Naushad (22).
Police arrested Abdul Salam in Kundapur, when he was planning to escape to Gulf via Mumbai, while Naushad was arrested from Sullia. Another accused identified as Asir, is absconding.
It is learnt that, the murder plot was hatched by Abdul Salam, who was kidnapped and assaulted by a gang led by Shafique few months ago. Two days before the incident, Salam had purchased two machetes and kept them in hiding near his residence and had even purchased flight ticket to move to Gulf and handed over the responsibility to commit the crime to Naushad.
The duo arrived with Asir arrived at Kumble, called Shafique and killed him o death.
Investigations are underway.
