Mangalore, April 21: Speaking to media persons in the press meet held at Congress party’s election office on April 19, Friday, Poojary said in his speech that people in the state have fed up with BJP’s five year’s misrule, corruption and tainted ministers.
Therefore people in the state are longing to bring change in the State administration and hence victory for congress in the ensuing assembly is certain, he predicted.
He further said, this time candidates have been chosen on the basis of preparation for the next Loka Saba election, which is due in 2014 and the result of ensuing assembly election is a guidelines for the party.
Criticizing BJP, he said BJP’s manifesto released on April 19,Friday in Bangalore was baseless with false assurances and BJP will lead the state to ‘Vinasha’( destruction) not ‘Vikasa’ (Development) and voters cannot be fooled by such assurances. People know them very well and the rampant corruption unleashed in the past five years, he told.
Their assurance of providing rice at Rs one rupee is nonsense as the previous manifesto had not materialized, he added.
He said that BJP, a party with difference created corrupt leaders and now it is a heaven for all types of people involved in nefarious activities, he charged.
Poojary brushed aside the allegation of BJP candidate N.Yogish Bhat’s allegation against congress candidate JR Lobo that latter did not mention a Lokayukta case in the affidavit.
Being in politics for years, hat is aware of the reality in such proceedings and such allegations can only be made by people like Bhat, who do not have any political knowledge of the law, he said.

Welcoming Munirathna’s arrest (film maker),congress candidate from Rajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency, blamed his own party for issuing a ticket to Manirathna and arrest was good move and there is nothing wrong in teaching a lesson, who allegedly threatened the returning officer in Filmy Style, which will not work in politics, he said.
