Mangalore, Mar 19: The members of ICYM and IFKCA handed over a memorandum to police commissioner R Hitendra on March 19, Wednesday, urging to take stringent action against the culprit who morphed photograph of Mother Mary with Infant Jesus and posted on social networking site like Facebook.
The memorandum stated that photo was morphed to depict AICC president Sonia Gandhi as Mother Mary and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal as Infant Jesus and posted on Facebook.
They also said that the person had uploaded the morphed photo March 17, Monday and looking at this the Congress Udupi district president called the police and informed about the matter and by Monday the photo was deleted from the account of uploader and no written complaint was filed.
The team of delegates includes Konkani Prachar Sanchalan president Stany Alvares, IFKCA team led by President Roy Castelino, ICYM president Sheldon Crasta, ICYM Director Fr Ronald D’Souza, Alwyn Colaco, Lawrence D’Souza, Rayan Rodrigues, Deryll D’Souza, Sandeep Monteiro and others were present.
Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah said that that if the written complaint is filed, the department will take action against the culprit and book him under Goonda Act for provoking communal tension during election time.
