Uppinangady, Mar 17: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the 29th Vijaya-Vikrama Jodukare Kambala organized on the Netravathi river banks near Uppinangady Kootelu on March 15, Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the rich rural sport like Kambala must be encouraged and introduced as the national level sports.
Nalin Kumar Kateel felicitated Madhala Devu Poojari, a Kambala jockey and centenarian.
High Court advocate Harish Poonja, Puttur Jana Jagrithi Vedike President Shashikumar Rai Balyottu, Belthangady APMC Director Vasantha Majalu, Kambala Samithi President Ashok Kumar Rai, ZP Member Keshava Gowda were present.
