Mangalore, Mar 5: Stany Alvares has been appointed as the president Konkani Prachar Sanchalan at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar on March 4, Tuesday.
Stany was chosen as president by the executive committee of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, since former president Roy Castelino was appointed as the president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy by the government.
Stany, a well-known actor has worked as a Konkani activist for the last 25 years. He has also served as the president of Mandd Sobhann for two years. He is also working as a vice-president of Congress Minority Cell of Dakshina Kannada district.
